Zero Carbon Resorts (ZCR) Annual Project Conference was organized by ASSIST at the Diamond Hotel in Manila on April 16, 2013.
Pushing the Green Movement, ZCR Project style was the theme of the event. Green presentations, green product exhibitions, green cottage designs and the green Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing were the highlights of the event. The conference was attended by green advocates, green companies, green specialists, hotel owners, tourism and human resources students, architects, experts, media and other organizations.
ZCR is a four-year project launched in 2010 with the support of the European Union with the goal of enabling tourism SMEs in Palawan and other parts of the Philippines to switch from fossil fuel to renewable energy. The green theme attunes to the overall goal of the ZCR Project promoting sustainable tourism industry – resorts with improved energy services and increased energy efficiency.
