It focuses on modernizing the industry to be cleaner, more productive, and capable of withstanding the increasing pressures of environmental degradation and climate-driven shifts.
What We Are Solving
Water Pollution Threatening Aquaculture
Climate change, poor waste management, and overfeeding degrade water sources, causing disease, low survival rates, and reduced aquaculture yields.
Limited Farmer Capacity for Sustainable Practices
Aquafarmers lack knowledge and skills for sustainable practices, increasing vulnerability to environmental and climate challenges in the Mekong Delta.
Inadequate Climate-Resilient Infrastructure
Aquaculture infrastructure is not climate-resilient, making it vulnerable to saline intrusion, extreme weather, and long-term industry instability.
The Need
Modern aquaculture faces a dual threat: deteriorating water quality and rising environmental instability. Traditional farming methods often lead to excessive waste runoff, which pollutes vital waterways and triggers disease outbreaks that can wipe out a community’s entire harvest. This ecological decline, paired with a lack of technical expertise in sustainable management, threatens the economic survival of millions who depend on the water for their livelihoods.
The Intervention
Aqua Xanh integrates international standards with localized technical solutions. We train farmers in Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) practices, focusing on high-efficiency, low-impact farming. To solve the pollution crisis, we pilot innovative water treatment systems that intercept farm runoff and prevent ecological damage. By facilitating international certifications for cooperatives, we open doors to high-value global markets. This approach proves that environmental health and increased profitability can be achieved simultaneously through technical precision.
