As part of the ongoing initiatives of Essilor and ASSIST to provide quality vision correction services to underprivileged people in India, a training center in Bidar, Karnataka was inaugurated on December 29, 2014.
The training center in Bidar district is just one of the three centers that will be set up for the Eye Mitra project. Through the establishment of these centers, the project would be able to fast track the delivery of services and training sessions to young people who intends to become certified Eye Mitra Opticians.
Eye Mitra is a Private-Public Partnership (PPP) co-financed by DEG and Essilor India Private Limited and implemented by ASSIST. The project seeks to provide quality vision correction services at affordable prices for underprivileged rural people.
