SAVE project conducts Management System Trainings and Forums in China

January 29, 2015

Trainings on ISO 9001/14001/50001 Management System were organized by Puma and ASSIST last December 22-23 and 25-26 in Nanjing and Dongguan, respectively, as part of Sustainable Action & Vision for a better Environment (SAVE) China project.

Both trainings were delivered by Chinese national auditors who, throughout the sessions, highlighted the concept as well as the importance of the implementation of the abovementioned management systems. 18 participants from the 7 participating factories in North China attended the training in Nanjing, while 27 participants from the 18 participating factories in South China were part of the training in Dongguan. Also in attendance during both training dates were representatives from the implementing partners.

Furthermore, two separate forums were also organized on December 24 and 27. Both forums gathered a total of 46 factory personnels from production sites participating in the SAVE project.

SAVE is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project co- financed by DEG and PUMA which aims to create more environmentally friendly footwear apparel and accessory supply chain factories in Asia. China is deemed important in this project since it is where most of the production sites are located.
