ASSIST, with ECCI, APEX Global, and AsianNGO, held its second quarter general assembly last Friday. The aim of the event is to share insights on
the gains and challenges experienced in the last quarter, and to strengthen the camaraderie of the Group. In its 15 years of service, ASSIST has never drifted away from its dedication to pursue projects and activities that promote social progress and sustainable transformation. This dedication continued to the first quarter of 2019, wherein several projects were successfully launched and implemented by ASSIST’s Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) arm.
In the previous quarter, ASSIST has completed projects on renewable energy (accessRE), climate smart technology (ImPACT), clean water (SOURCe in the Philippines), skills and jobs (Green Electrician) among others.
Aside from community-level projects, ASSIST Creative Lab also showcased creative projects that they are working on together with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), International Labor Organization (ILO), and Signify.
Another key initiative of ASSIST through its social enterprise, AsianNGO, is the iMPACT Magazine which features news on social development and sustainability. The magazine’s latest issue highlights agriculture and food security.
As ASSIST enters the 2nd quarter of 2019, the organization prepares for this year’s Innovation for Collective Impact Asia (IN_PACT Asia) that will happen on May 2019. This forum will gather social innovators across the Philippines and beyond, to propel change-making and inclusive innovation through digital enablement and creative thinking.
Interesting projects and activities are coming this quarter for ASSIST and the rest of the group. Thus, the organization expects to share more fruitful results in the next general assembly.
