Labor Market Development
Addressing unemployment and underemployment crisis require the formulation of policies and the creation of institutional conditions that address labor supply and demand gaps in the market. Our projects with the private sector include the activation of networks of stakeholders from government, suppliers, customers, universities and colleges, and other training institutions and the conduct of Training of Trainers to ensure the sustainable development of local labor. We’ve prepared a paper for the ASEAN on inclusive labor market that looks at the major characteristics of employer engagement in Asia and the challenges and perspectives for work process-oriented training in the context of intensified trade in goods and services as well as labor mobility, Our technical assistance to national agencies for the preparation and rolling out of master plans as well as the establishment of labor certification programs have helped improve labor markets in South Asia, the Mekong Region, and Southeast Asia.
