With the amount of waste generated due to inefficiency, scale of production and ballooned consumption, waste as a secondary source of raw material from waste disposal infrastructures has become of mainstream interest. Our work has covered establishment of such community infrastructure including municipal solid waste management facilities in South Asia; managing awareness campaigns for adoption of compostable bags to reduce plastic waste; and facilitating south-south exchange on waste heat recovery in the cement industry for private sector and policy makers.
