About the Role
The Partnerships Associate is a proactive, results-driven professional with a passion for development work. This role requires extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, program design and development, and resource mobilization. As part of ASSIST’s Partnerships and Business Development Team, the Associate will support in driving efforts to expand ASSIST’s impact and capacity by building and managing strategic partnerships with private sector companies, development organizations, and other key stakeholders. This role is focused on leveraging partnerships to drive growth and foster collaboration across sectors.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and lead generation to identify potential clients and donors based on established criteria.
- Support the development of program concepts and partnership proposals, ensuring alignment with ASSIST’s portfolio and the priorities of potential partners.
- Create new business opportunities by presenting ASSIST’s capabilities, expertise, and experience in the development sector to prospective partners.
- Drive business development through presenting, negotiating, contracting, and reporting, in alignment with client and donor requirements.
- Leverage unit tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness in achieving business goals.
Secondary and Cross-Cutting Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-BU teams and stakeholders to develop tools, resources, and materials that support all resource development efforts.
- Represent ASSIST at online and offline meetings, events, and conferences to enhance brand recognition and increase awareness.
- Maintain a deep understanding of ASSIST’s impact goals, strategic direction, focus areas, and successes, and effectively communicate these to partners and during organizational events and meetings.
- Support organization-wide activities to drive employee engagement values
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing Management, International Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years years relevant work experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, program design and development, or similar roles, preferably in the nonprofit or civil society sector.
- Passion for development work, with a desire to create sustainable impact.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with a creative approach and commercial awareness.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with proficiency in negotiation.
- Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management, and the ability to coordinate multiple clients simultaneously.
- Highly professional, responsible, and capable of working independently in fast-paced environments, meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to analyze and break down complex ideas and effectively communicate them in both written and verbal formats.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, HubSpot, Slack, and other relevant software.
