ASSIST supports the Asia Clean Energy Forum in ADB

ASSIST, represented by Kamesh Ganeson and Vanessa Hans, joined the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) at the ADB Headquarters in Manila on June 25-28, 2013.

 

This event took place in line with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Energy for all projects that was launched in 2009. This event is themed as Unlocking Asia’s Clean Energy Future. It aims to grant 100 million people in developing countries to have access to electricity by 2015. This event aims to promote clean energies within Asia and gathers guest speakers as well as participants from all over the world.

 

On the first day, the fifth meeting of the Asia Solar Energy Forum (ASEF) took place. It is an independent society facilitating solar energy technology transfer across Asia and the Pacific. Discussions on the advocacy of Energy for All: Promoting Private Sector Engagement in Energy Access and EE Global Asia: Regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency took place. The following three days consisted of various panel discussions on the topics related to the agenda.

 

The event was concluded by Brian Castelli, Executive Vice President of Programs and Development from the Alliance to Save Energy, Orestes Anastasia, Senior Regional Climate Change Advisor of the Regional Development Mission for Asia from the United States Agency for International Development, and lastly, Woochung Um, Deputy Director General of Regional and Sustainable Development Department from the Asian Development Bank.
