ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Summit & Awards 2015

ECC International through its learning solutions arm, Apex Global, will once again gather industry leaders, government heads, experts and advocates on 27 March in Manila for the ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Summit and Awards. With the theme ‘Shifting Gears: Fostering Sustainable Value’, over 25 local and international industry leaders will speak to 250 delegates in plenary sessions and in five learning breakout sessions.

 

Discussions will centre on creating sustainable value in a changing competitive market drawing from fields of partnerships, stakeholder engagement, innovative approaches and the ASEAN economic integration. The summit aims at promoting the importance of using integrated thinking, a value chain approach, responsible leadership and collaboration across all stakeholders as drivers of creating sustainable value.

 

This year’s keynote speakers are Neric Acosta, presidential adviser for environmental protection, to talk about sustainability in the ASEAN context; and Armin Bauer, principal economist of Asian Development Bank, to discuss challenges of inclusive growth in Asia.

 

Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development Executive Director Tiur Rumondang, WWF-Philippines CEO and President Joel Palma, SM Investments Group Vice President Gil Gonzales, Nickel Asia Corp President and CEO Gerard Brimo, Cargill Singapore VP for Corporate Affairs and Corporate Responsibility Bruce Blakeman, Philippine Business for Social Progress Executive Director Rafael Lopa, and Prudence Foundation Executive Director Mark Fancy complete the lineup of speakers for the main conference event. Karin Laljani, managing director of Corporate Citizenship UK will join a special session on the topic of “Social Purpose”.

 

Two pre-conference workshops on 26 March at the Holiday Inn Makati will focus on ‘Decoupling Growth and Efficiency’, facilitated by Shamama Afreen of the Indian Institute of Management; and ‘Measuring Impacts of Social Programmes’, facilitated by Corporate Citizenship Singapore Country Director Junice Yeo.

 

The awards night on 27 March will cap the day with the recognition of exceptional sustainability performance of organisations across 10 categories. Nominations are reviewed by a panel of international sustainability experts.
