August 28, 2013

Advancing Carbon Neutral Economy (ACE), an 18-month project co-financed by DEG and implemented by ASSIST and TUV NORD, came to an end together with the Best Practices Forum event held in Shanghai, China on 7 May 2013.

ACE project kicked-off in October 2011 in the cities of Beijing and Shanghai with the goal to contribute in moving forward to an economy with equally emitted carbon. The project targeted energy-intensive enterprises in four cities of China, namely Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Chongqing. These four cities are among the top most industrialized cities in the country where the resource intensive industries are located.

Both the Best Practices Forum and the Closing Ceremony aims to conclude the 18-month project with the discussions on the existing low carbon emission practices, opportunities and challenges for enterprises. The event also served as the platform for project participants to share their learning experiences which also helped for the sustainability of the project even after implementation.
