2013 ADB International Skills Development Forum

Sreeni Narayanan and Olga Babina of ASSIST participated in the International Forum on Skills for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Developing Asia-Pacific hosted at ADB on 9-12 December 2013.

 

The International Forum on Skills for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Developing Asia-Pacific focused on youth and technology in the context of skills development. To focus on youth employment and the need to address education or skills and jobs mismatch were just some of the objectives of the forum.

 

Bindu Lohani, Vice President, Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development of ADB, opened the Forum with an important message: “there should be better strategies for Youth Skills Development.”

 

On the first day, 40 youth representatives from different Asia-Pacific countries attended the youth day. From the 10th to 12th, around 100-120 skills, training and workforce development experts and policy makers participated.
