Job Background

The Editorial Associate will play a crucial role in managing editorial responsibilities for ASSIST and its various programs and initiatives, as well as supporting ASSIST’s communication and visibility strategy; through partnerships, public relations and networking. AsianNGO is an initiative dedicated to serving the NGO community by providing a one-stop solution for all grants, events, and learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Managing ASSIST’s quarterly newsletter (12 pages, standard newsletter template) and the weekly AsianNGO newsletter (500-600 word newsletter)
    • Write and edit articles ranging from SEO to feature articles
    • Research events and contact external partners for event promotions
    • Coordinate with the creative team for the overall look and feel of both newsletters
    • Collaborate with potential contributors and writers
  • Supporting the development and implementation of ASSIST’s PR and media engagement plan, through establishing and maintaining partnerships with key media and event organizations 
  • Managing both ASSIST and AsianNGO’s social media platforms and website
    • Maintain content calendars and analytics tracker
    • Create and oversee communication campaigns to boost online visibility and engagement
  • Manage internal knowledge platforms, databases, and tools
  • Providing support to the C&V team and general administrative activities

 

Secondary & Cross-Cutting Responsibilities

  • Attend and represent the organization at online and offline meetings, events, and conferences to grow brand recognition and awareness of ASSIST
  • Research and adopt for internal use the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in communications and visibility
  • Work with other teams and stakeholders to provide tools, resources, and other materials that support all C&V efforts

 

**The successful candidate will be supported with tools and resources to help them do their work more efficiently and effectively. 

Qualifications

 

  • Degree or diploma in Journalism, Communication Arts, Mass Communication, Marketing, Development Communication, or any related fields
  • At least 1 year of experience working in an editorial team is preferred, but outstanding fresh graduates are also welcome to apply
  • Has strong interest and passion for writing and editorial work
  • Strong writing and communication skills in English
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment and applies critical thinking to regular operations
  • Open-minded and enthusiastic to engage with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Keen interest in development work and being part of an organization creating sustainable impact
  • Experience working with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Able to work and coordinate with the C&V team remotely
