The Need
For many rural families in Region I and the Cordillera Administrative Region, a stable income has always felt just out of reach. With limited access to livelihood opportunities and agricultural resources, households remain vulnerable to economic shocks season after season. Yet within these communities lies a powerful foundation: a long-standing tradition of native pig raising and vegetable farming that, with the right support, could be transformed into a sustainable source of income and resilience.
The Intervention
PIGbiagan integrates livelihood support, capacity development, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. It provides start-up capital and essential inputs to help beneficiary families launch sustainable micro-enterprises, strengthens their skills through hands-on training and technical mentorship, and connects communities to a network of government, civil society, and private sector partners — building a resilient and self-sustaining livelihood ecosystem across Region I and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
