ASSIST Delivers Sustainability Talks at Various International Events

ASSIST actively engaged in international forums on sustainability conducted in Sri Lanka, South Africa and Indonesia in February and March 2013.

 

On February 21-22, ASSIST Managing Director Sreenivas “Sreeni” Narayanan moderated the theme of Pro-active Sustainable Consumption and Production Tools in the 2nd Roundtable Conference of National Cleaner Production Center (NCPC), Sri Lanka. During the same event, Sreeni and ASSIST Director S. Sathappan co-hosted Best Practices Exchange Forum to mark the end of Project PROSPER SRI LANKA.

 

Subsequently, Sreeni went to South Africa to give a speech in the NCPC-South Africa Industrial Resource Efficiency Conference held last March 11 and 12 at Emperor’s Palace, Gauteng. The conference centered on the competitiveness, sustainability and profitability of the manufacturing industry, educated on energy, water and materials efficiency. During his stay in South Africa, Sreeni also caught up with Civicus, an international alliance for civitizen participation.

 

The Asian Choco Congress 2013 in Jakarta, Indonesia last March 26-28 took the final leg of Sreeni’s keynote speeches. The Congress brought together international multi-stakeholders to explore business opportunities and address challenges of the global supply chain in the confectionary industry.
