ACIDLOOP Project Conducts Workshop on Resource Efficiency Measures Implementation

June 23, 2015

A one-day major workshop on the implementation of resource efficiency measures was held at Hotel Jayapuspham in India on May 15, 2015 to present the various resource efficiency measures that were already implemented, as well as the savings that were achieved by the participants through the ACIDLOOP project.

The event, which geared towards the incorporation of sustainable practices to reduce cost and save resources, stirred a positive interaction between the companies and the project team. In addition, it has also set some priorities in order to help accelerate the implementation of the other participants specifically those from the southern region. As a result, there are plans to conduct more company visits to take note of the already enacted measures and also to help execute additional measures.

ACIDLOOP is a 4-year project (2012-2016) supported by the European Union (EU) under the SWITCH Asia Programme. The cities where the project is implemented are Delhi NCR, Chandigarh and Mohali, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Pune and Chennai.

Specifically, the 4-year action aims to introduce technology innovation as well as resource efficiency in the metal finishing companies (SMEs) that would lead to improved environmental quality and combat pollution through advanced water treatment measures and energy efficient processes.
