The Need
In Mindanao’s Islamic schools, dedicated teachers and eager students show up every day — often with far less than they deserve. Many madrasah institutions operate with limited technology, constrained resources, and few opportunities for teacher professional development, making it difficult to deliver the holistic, future-ready education their students need. Beyond the classroom, Muslim communities face another gap: limited access to financial services that align with Islamic principles, leaving many families without the tools to build economic security. For these communities, quality education and financial inclusion aren’t luxuries — they are pathways to resilience.
The Intervention
Adopt-A-Madrasah integrates technology access, educator capacity development, and community financial literacy. It delivers IT assets and learner-centered upskilling to madrasah teachers and students across three pilot cities in Mindanao, strengthens financial inclusion through Takaful literacy education designed to align with Islamic principles, and engages Pru Life UK employee volunteers to bridge expertise and community education — fostering a partnership built on mutual respect and shared purpose that strengthens both the classroom and the community around it.
