The Need
Asia is considered to be one of the most disaster prone regions in the world, where resilience is not an option but it is crucial for survival. For communities in high-risk areas, disasters don’t just bring immediate destruction—they trigger lasting setbacks to livelihoods, food security, and community stability.
The Intervention
Effective disaster risk management goes far beyond emergency response. ASSIST builds a culture of preparedness—equipping communities, schools, and local governments to anticipate, respond to, and recover from disasters with confidence, while strengthening resilience through training, risk awareness, and community-driven strategies for long-term safety and sustainability.
