ASSIST engages in the 2013 ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Summit

The 2013 ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Summit is organized by ECC International through its learning solutions arm, Apex Global held at Mandarin Oriental Manila last April 4-5, 2013.

 

Sustainability has progressed to be a fundamental element in determining a company’s success and survival. The event aims to discuss the importance of integrating sustainable practices in business through its theme: “Shifting Gears. Mainstreaming Sustainability”.

 

The summit touched on how mainstreaming sustainable practices in business stands prominent in order to gain a competitive edge and harness long-term results. Its purpose can be embodied in three words, Exchange, Enable, and Excel. Participants were encouraged to create connections and exchange ideas and knowledge. They were enabled with the right tools and technologies. Participants were also equipped with information necessary to produce results and impact the Triple Bottom-Line growth.

 

The summit was attended by 40 of the best regional and international sustainability leaders from award-winning enterprises, as well as 200 plus local and Southeast Asian practitioners from government, regulatory bodies, multilaterals, academe, NGOs, and other industries. ASSIST representatives, Sreeni Narayanan, Group Managing Director and Kama Neson Ganeson, Senior Director, Partners & Network Management, were two of the many keynote speakers that graced the event. The two-day summit comprises of panel discussions and breakout sessions where in delegates discussed on certain topics in terms of stakeholder engagement for value creation, governance & strategy, competitiveness through innovation.
