AURORA, Philippines – ImPACT Project Manager Lalaine Alfaro led the turnover of METOS, a mini weather station that autonomously measures and transmits environmental data to farmers, under the Improving Productivity in Agriculture through Climate-Smart Technology (ImPACT Philippines) Project. It is introduced Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) to the smallholder farmers to increase their productivity and improve food security.

Aside from benefiting farmers, the project is also expected to help locals during disasters. Because of improved and faster weather forecasts, communities can prepare and better respond to calamities, particularly flood, which regularly plagues the Baler.
