May 22, 2015

The ENERGIE project is co-financed by DEG and implemented by UL DQS India in association with ASSIST to build capacity among energy management professionals and help in creating energy efficient enterprises and contribute to sustainable industrial development in India.

As a part of this project, ASSIST organized an Energy Efficiency Professional Training program earlier this month which aims to inform companies and industries on the different methods of energy efficiency and various international standards for its accomplishment. This three-day program held in Hotel JP in Chennai, India on May 7 to 9, gathered a total of 23 representatives from around 15 different companies who took part in the training through engaging in and completing the activities that were prepared along with the training program per se. The participants received intensive training under Mr. J Nagesh Kumar.

At the end of the program, the conclusion of the participants is unanimous – that there exists the undeniable need for energy efficiency program installation in their respective companies. And throughout the process of reaching this conclusion, they also learned about the several ways on which they can achieve it. With the completion of this program together with its success, there continues a hope for more training programs and more participants in the near future.
