MoneyMatters is a flagship financial literacy initiative that equips young people aged 14 and above with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to make informed financial decisions. By instilling essential best practices in personal finance from an early age, the program empowers youth to take control of their financial future — building the confidence and competence to achieve financial security and independence at every stage of life.
What We Are Solving
Low Financial Literacy Among Youth in Asia
Low financial literacy rates mean that many young people are entering adulthood without the skills to manage their money properly.
Poor Saving and Money Management Habits
Only 40% of adults save money, and many keep it in unsafe places. This shows a lack of basic skills in budgeting and managing debt.
Vulnerability to Financial Risks and Scams
Limited financial knowledge leads to scams, poor credit use, and missed opportunities, highlighting the need for accessible financial education.
The Need
Money is something everyone deals with — yet for many young people, no one ever teaches them how. Without access to quality financial education, youth are left to navigate debt, fraud, and major life decisions without the tools to do so wisely.
The Intervention
MoneyMatters meets young people where financial education rarely reaches. Through a progressive curriculum spanning seven key areas — from basic financial concepts and budgeting to investment, insurance, fraud protection, and retirement planning — the program builds financial confidence. Each module is designed not just to inform, but to empower: giving youth the practical tools to navigate the complex economic world with clarity.
