Job Background

A specialized unit of ASSIST Development Solutions, ASSIST Creative Lab, caters to the unique and varied communication, visibility and knowledge management needs of actors and interventions in the development sector. The Instructional Designer shall spearhead the design and development of learning content for Creative Lab Projects.

Responsibilities

Professional Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills in visual, oral, and written form;
  • Apply theories and principles to the practice of instructional design;
  • Utilize fundamental research skills to instructional design projects;
  • Exhibit organization in the planning and analysis of instructional design projects

 

Design and Development

  • Set goals as basis for the output of the instructional design project;
  • Identify, visualize, and create a design and development model that suits the project’s requirements.;
  • Utilize varying techniques to organize the instructional content and strategies;
  • Create supporting material (audio, video, games, etc.) for the lesson or course;
  • Improve, adapt, or modify existing instructional materials;
  • Design instruction that reflects an understanding of the target audience;
  • Create assessments, such as tests and quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of a lesson or course;
  • Test and evaluate instructional materials and their impact

 

Relationship Management

  • Coordinate with the Creative Director, the Creative Team and Project Managers to encompass the client’s requisites and interests;
  • Document project and organize assets the appropriate repository of files

Qualifications

  • Minimum two-three years of work experience as an employee in the end-to-end development of instructional materials for a variety of communication products;
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree holder in the field of Instructional Design, Education Technology, and other related fields In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design principles;
  • Basic knowledge in HTML and Flash programming Experience with WBTs (web based training), CBTs (computer based training) and ILTs (instructor led training);
  • Mastery over ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation);
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in visual design programs (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.);
  • Skills in lesson and curriculum planning, copywriting, audio and video scriptwriting, and instructional text writing
