- June 23, 2015
In 2013, TÜV-NORD Indonesia, along with ASSIST, established UPLIFT Program to educate Energy Managers and to support companies in implementing an Energy Management System, in accordance with the Presidential Regulation PP 70/2009. The project was highly supported by the Directorate for Energy Conservation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
During the course of the project, TUV-NORD Indonesia established a curriculum for Energy Managers and conducted several activities to hand the developed curriculum to respective universities and training institutions. It also conducted trainings for the industry and also subsidized the certification of 17 Energy Managers.
On May 19, 2015, a Best Practices Forum at All Seasons Jakarta Thamrin Hotel was conducted, as part of the closing ceremony of the project. It was attended by more than 50 participants from industries, universities and various institutions. The new director for Energy Conservation, Mrs. Farida Zed, opened the forum by emphasizing the great contribution of the project in their task in developing more Energy Managers in Indonesia. The work started is set to continue in that field, in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The companies which received technical assistance through the project presented the results of the assistance and showed their roadmap to become more energy efficient in the future. The forum ended with a speech by the President Director of TÜV-NORD, Mr. Robert Napitupulu, which formally closed the event and the project.
